DEHNarc arcing fault protection system

The DEHNarc arcing fault protection system has been developed to protect persons against the effects related to an arcing fault during live working. The arcing fault protection system detects an arcing fault and causes a three-phase short-circuit which makes the current flow commute from the arcing fault to the three-phase short-circuiter. This considerably reduces the effects of the arcing fault with regard to the thermal exposure energy, electromagnetic radiation, pressure and acoustic wave and occurrence of hot, toxic gases and metal vapours. The DEHNarc arcing fault protection system in combination with the personal protective equipment of the installer working under live conditions ensures efficient protection against arcing faults.

The arcing fault system comprises the following main components:

• DEHNarc STG control unit
• DEHNarc KSP short-circuiter cartridge
